Bin Racks

Define and manage physical storage positions within your warehouse locations.

Bin Racks represent individual storage positions within your warehouse — shelves, bins, hangers, and pallets where products are physically stored.

Storage

Overview

The Bin Racks page shows a paginated list (100 per page) of all storage positions at a selected location. Each bin rack has a structured reference, type, capacity, and real-time utilisation data.

Bin reference format

Each bin rack has a structured reference that describes its physical position:

Format: {Zone}-{Aisle}-{Bay}-{Level}-{Position}

Example: A-A-01-01-L

Viewing and filtering

Required: Select a location

You must select a warehouse location to view its bin racks.

Reference component filters

Filter by specific parts of the bin reference:

  • Zone — Show bins in a specific zone
  • Aisle — Filter by aisle
  • Bay — Filter by bay number
  • Level — Filter by shelf level
  • Position — Filter by position

Other filters

  • Type — Show only a specific bin type (Shelf, Bin, Hanger, Pallet)
  • Utilisation — Find bins above or below a capacity threshold (e.g., over 80% full or under 20% full)
  • Search — Full-text search by reference

The page shows a count of matching bins vs. total (e.g., "150 of 500 match current filters").

Bulk creation

Click New Bin Racks to open the bulk creation dialog. This lets you generate multiple bin racks at once by specifying ranges for zone, aisle, bay, level, and position — essential when setting up a new warehouse section.

Setting up a new zone

When adding a new warehouse zone, use bulk creation to generate all bin positions at once. For example, create all bins in Zone B, Aisles A–D, Bays 01–10, Levels 1–5, Positions L and R in a single operation.

Bin rack details

Each bin rack shows:

  • Reference — The full structured reference
  • Type — Shelf, Bin, Hanger, or Pallet
  • Capacity — Maximum units the position can hold
  • Current contents — SKU and quantity currently stored
  • Utilisation — Percentage capacity used (colour-coded bar)
  • Last updated — When the bin was last modified
