Shipping Providers

Configure carrier integrations for label generation and shipment tracking.

Shipping Providers manages your carrier integrations — connecting Helium to shipping carriers like FedEx for automated label generation and shipment tracking.

Shipping Providers

Overview

The Shipping Providers page lists your configured carrier connections with their connection status and environment mode.

Provider information

Each provider shows:

  • Provider name — The carrier (e.g., FedEx)
  • Connection status — Whether API credentials are configured
  • Environment — Sandbox (testing) or Production (live)

Setting up a provider

Create a new provider

Navigate to Fulfillment → Shipping Providers and click the create button.

Enter provider details

Set the provider name and select the environment:

  • Sandbox — For testing without generating real labels or charges
  • Production — For live shipments with real labels and billing

Configure API credentials

Enter the credentials from your carrier account:

  • API Key — Authentication key from the carrier's developer portal
  • API Secret — Secret key paired with the API key
  • Account Number — Your account number with the carrier

Test the connection

Click Test Connection to verify your credentials work correctly. The test result shows the environment and success or error details.

Your own credentials

Each organisation must configure their own carrier account credentials. Shipping labels are generated and billed through your organisation's account with the carrier.

Supported carriers

Helium currently supports:

  • FedEx — Full integration with label generation, tracking, and MPS (Multi-Piece Shipments)
  • Royal Mail — Integration planned
  • DPD — Integration planned

Start with sandbox

Always test your integration in Sandbox mode first. This lets you verify credentials, test label generation, and ensure everything works before generating real shipments.
